But ouch that's a little too close to the mark. By now a lot of us are noticing that John Lasseter doesn't have much of a vision for taking hand-drawn animation into new areas . Princess & Frog was good, it was very "safe" , nice entertaining little film. I enjoyed it, but it didn't really generate that much excitement about a renewed hand-drawn animation dept. And then the follow-up film is ... POOH ? Really J.L. ? Another Winnie the Pooh movie ... yeah right , um no ... that's not the type of film we really needed to reinvigorate hand-drawn animation. So suggesting tongue-in-cheek that Lasseter's idea for the next hand-drawn feature (if there is one) might be another dip into the past , such as doing another Rescuer's sequel, doesn't seem too far-fetched given his track record. But no, I don't think it was seriously being suggested that they'll make another Rescuer's sequel.

Your point: "I just want Disney to actually make a good promotable hand drawn film and schedule it at a good time" is a point of view shared by many of us , I'm sure. I hope that happens , but it seems uncertain now ... so many high hopes in 2006 , but those high hopes have pretty much been unfulfilled.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5244647450237014911.post-68224996718855904072011-06-28T16:13:18.501-07:002011-06-28T16:13:18.501-07:00I can't imagine them doing another Rescuers se...I can't imagine them doing another Rescuers sequel without Eva Gabor (god rest her soul). I don't want them to bring back the old glory days of animation. I just want Disney to actually make a good promotable hand drawn film and schedule it at a good time, preferably a non fairytale one.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5244647450237014911.post-71804516000963571622011-06-25T09:22:48.549-07:002011-06-25T09:22:48.549-07:00"Any news for 2014?"
