Art Of The Animal...

If you haven't seen Alain's article over at Disney and More featuring concept artwork from Disney's Animal Kingdom then you should go over and take a look...

All of it's beautiful, some of it's amazing. Now if Disney would just build "Beastly Kingdom" this park would be a wonderful full-day park. Oh, and please retheme "Dinoland U.S.A." while your at it so it doesn't look like a garish Carney. Other than that, it's a wonderful park and viewing Alain's post shows the reality and concept of what a great Disney park can, should and will be...

The Fourth On The Fourth Celebrates Thirteen...

Thirteen years ago today, Walt Disney World broke ground for its Fourth Gate: "Disney's Animal Kingdom".

Disney spent approximately 800 million for this new park that was the creation of Imagineer Joe Rohde... The budget was closer to a billion with "Beastly Kingdom" included, but Eisner in an attempt to cut cost decided to hold off on building that part of the park and instead put the much cheaper Camp Minnie-Mickey where BK was supposed to go.

Only two of the three areas for animals were completed. The extinct(Dinosaurs, ect), the living(Lions, Tigers and Bears... oh my) would greet visitors when they walked into the park, but the Mythical(Dragons, Unicorns, ect.) would have to wait...

And wait.

And wait.

And wait.
