Twenty-seven years ago today, the Mouse released the first film by a new generation of artists that were just cutting their teeth in animation, "The Fox and the Hound". It wouldn't be a great hit and it wasn't the best example of storytelling, but it was a start for many of the animators that would go on to hone their skills on "The Great Mouse Detective" and then perfect them in "The Little Mermaid"...
The finale with the bear is a great piece of animation. If you haven't seen this film in a while, take another look at it. It's worth it for the history alone, but there are some great moments throughout that give pause and reflection over where Disney was and how far it's come.
