Hi ho, where do we go...
We finally have our first look at a small 2013 film from the Mouse...
Our first glimpse (at least in teaser form) of Armie Hammer as the Lone Ranger and Johnny Depp as the Indian warrior who aids him in his goal for justice. It's a very visual teaser that shows off some grand images, but very little of the story.
Of course, that is what the trailer will be for next year. Along with hearing the Masked Man speak it seems. But for now we'll have to settle for iconic imagery, and a promise of a grand western.
Perhaps even an epic one...

This is the same teaser they released for John Carter. No story, all action and visuals.
Worried.
I'm looking foward to this! Although the Lone Rangers hat is way too clean. XD
I saw The Crow already!
They just wrapped up several weeks of visual effects filming right in my neighborhood, in the parking lot of the Santa Anita Racetrack in Arcadia, California. They had a couple of blue screen setups and a lot of train equipment, including a couple different locomotives and accompanying railcars. I made a point to drive by a lot while they were there, as it was also right by the mall and beside one of the major streets. I think they also did some filming at the LA Arboretum.
What suit decided Tonto needed to look like a cross between Jack Sparrow and Bootstrap Bill Turner?
I highly doubt if the movie is anything but action and no story.
It's obvious from the pix being released, and this new teaser... that this movie is NOT The Lone Ranger. It's Tonto and Friends. Personally I'm disgusted they've essentially thrown out the idea of the Lone Ranger to sell Johnny Depp as Tonto. I'm fine with him playing Tonto, I'm fine with his take. I hate that the film is being built up with Tonto front and center and the Lone Ranger as an afterthought. He's front and center in all the pix, he is front and center in all the shots in the teaser, he has the lines, the Logo itself is even TONTO (the bird image) 'the lone ranger'.
5 bucks says this film bombs, but they still make a sequel and or prequel without the Lone Ranger and just being about Tonto.
