Disney Getting Devil's Due...

It appears that Disney's ABC Family Channel is getting another super-hero series(remember Middleman?)...

Will all the success that comic book films are having the Mouse appears to have optioned another little known comic book for adaption to television. Devil Due Publishing's "Will Triumph Fights Alone" is being planned by the Mouse for adaption.

What is it?

The story follows a novic superhero Will Triumph(clever huh?) who is the son of a powerful superhero team known as the "Dynamics" until they were killed fighting their arch-enemy , Dr. Loricas. He gets hold of his parents' Rings of Power. The catch is these rings only work for a married couple(Holy matrimony, Batman!). The story finds Will hunting for Dr. Loricas to avenge his parents death and also trying to find that "special girl" who will help him unlock those rings so he can be the super-hero he's always believed he would become.

Will it be any good? Tune in next year when it premieres on ABC Family and find out... same bat time, same bat- ahhh, you get where I'm going here, don't you?

Family Schedule...

ABC Family released its summer schedule the other day...

Forgive the tardiness, it includes two new dramas, an event miniseries and two original movies.

This Summer, ABC Family comes out with "millennial" and then "The Middleman," followed by the Brenda Hampton-penned "The Secret Life of the American Teenager".

Eversince Fox in the mid to late 80's started messing with its series schedule we have slowly seen television erode the traditional history of having all new shows start in the Fall...

Now they start all over the place at many different times. ABC Family has had a lot of success debuting shows in the Summer... we'll see if it continues this time as well.

ABC Getting A Middleman...

ABC Family is about to purchase "The Middleman," as a one-hour pilot for it's network from writer/producer Javier Grillo-Marxuach(Medium).

Javier created the graphic novels himself, which is illustrated by Les McClaine and published for Viper Comics. "Middleman" is the story of a struggling, twentysomething artist recruited by a secret agency to fight comic book-type villains. Javier wrote the script as a spec.
