Lost Again...

Dad is out looking for Harpo again...

So Andrew Stanton is going back to the well...

Deadline Hollywood, the site that doesn't like to credit non-approved websites for breaking stories has the breaking story. Stanton will film a sequel to his most famous creation: "Finding Nemo."

After the lackluster box office of "John Carter" because of the marketing departments totally inept campaign, the director is moving into familiar territory. Disney hadn't confirmed it as of this morning, but it makes sense. According to Deadline, the Lamp is very happy with the take that the director wants to take with the story.

Hopefully, it'll be more than just finding this time around...

UPDATE:

Sources are reporting that scribe Victoria Strouse (The Apostles of Infinite Love - Black List 2008), has been hired by the Mouse to write the script based on Stanton's idea. It looks like they're aiming for a 2016 release date.

The Once And Future King...

It's hard to believe, but fourteen years ago today Disney released "The Lion King" in America...

The Walt Disney Company's thirty-second feature length animated film went on to break box office records and become the highest grossing animated feature ever(until "Finding Nemo" unseated it from the throne). The film will go on to inspire a truly amazing theater adaption and sell merchandise for the Mouse beyond any bean counter's most optimistic estimates...

It was the last of the four films that marked the Second Golden Age of Disney Animation(SGA). While other films will go on to do everything from great, good to disappointing, no film since has achieve the success of "The Little Mermaid","Beauty and the Beast", "Aladdin" or "The Lion King".

One of the interesting things about the SGA is that no rides were ever completed of these films. While proposals were made nothing ever came to fruition...

That will change beginning next decade...

Big Fish...

On this day...

Five years ago "Wall-E" director Andrew Stanton's "Finding Nemo" premieres. It will go on to make massive amounts of cash for Disney and give the Lamp much greater leverage in contract negotiations. The success of this film adds fuel to the fire for Eisner's ouster...

Iiiiiiittttt's oooooopppppeeeen...

Don't speak Whale?

That's ok, I'll translate. As of Monday the "Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage" has officially opened. If you're a Disney fan, if you're a Pixar fan, in you're an Imagineer fan or just like cool things then come to Disneyland and experience this.

It's really worth it.

For those of us that have had to suffer through the Paul Pressler years, this is a delightful peek into Imagineering's future. No lame ride this time. It's a fully emersive and layered theming experience that's an absolute must see. Want to see what John Lasseter has in store for Disneyland? DCA? The world? This ride should give you an idea as to what is in store for us.

So arrive early, bring sun block and have patience... there's a looooong line.
