Has anyone seen the documentary some film students did about him? I saw it on Netflix. They went to try an meet him and to get an interview with him. After they were refused at his home they hand delivered a a letter and a videotape that contained messages from actors from all his movies asking him to please just make contact some how. After a month the students got a FedEx Box with the videotape and the hand written letter returned. No other comment was included. What's interesting to know is that his wife since his death has attended functions that have celebrated his life and films. This shows it was him in control of his fortress of solitude. For a real glimpse into who this man was watch the interview that Kevin Bacon did with him on the Some Kind of Wonderful DVD...it will trip you out!

Man, I wish he'd still been making films. Directing them, I mean. That was where all his best ones were.
Miss you J.
