Averger Assemble...
The teaser poster for Marvel Studios' "Captain America: The First Politically Correct One" is out...
And I like it. Although I'd prefer to see him with his mask on. Looking forward to this one.
The "A" doesn't stand for Avenger and Marvel knows it...

I'm not American, not even from that side of the World, and I really dislike that they will be adding that "First Avenger" onto the title, when it works fine without.
I can understand that works as an alternative title for certain markets, and it is perhaps correct to refer to him as the 'first' avenger.
I still feel that at the end of the day he is American, and that is the point and its okay. So long as its not offensively pro-American or pro-Cap, I'm okay.
It is fictionalised history, but even fiction should be sensitive to the world.
These days I think they'll get that more right than wrong.
Looking forward to the film. Hoping for cameos of other heroes from this generation.
Namor, Human Torch et al.
Superb!
What's he avenging?
I agree that even the subtitle "The First Avenger" is dumb, since all it really accomplishes is watering down the sense that this is it's own film and only makes it a prequel to The Avengers movie (still, what are they avenging?!). I mean, yes, we know it is, but still. It seems kind of unfair to ol' Cap.
Looking forward to seeing Captain America make it to the screen. Hopefully, he will not be a politically correct version of the original. That would be heresy.
As long as Disney stays Disney, and Marvel stays Marvel this should be a fantastic financial arrangement for Disney. I believe that Disney President Robert Iger realizes that.
Well they made a Captain Britain and Canadians have that Captain Canuck guy.
The tag line is silly, but the image itself is very cool. I'm still very much looking forward to this. Joe Johnston making another WWII era comic book movie -- this is the closest I'll ever get to a Rocketeer sequel.
I am looking forward to this movie... I would think they'd be putting it on July 4th however if not for Transformers 3.
No Darrell, they'll be putting it on 9/11.
Very cool poster. Hopefully he'll kick some Islamic-extremist-ass.
Hopefully, he will not be a politically correct version of the original.
Captain America is, by definition, politically correct. He is an idealized, romanticized personification of the myth benevolent American military strength, in the same way something like G.I.Joe is.
If they were not politically correct, Snake-Eyes would be assinating democratically-elected foreign heads of state and Captain America would be securing oil pipelines in the Middle East. But Cap's whole point is to be an inoffensive and patriotic symbol.
See, political correctness works both ways. It's not just liberals who get offended by things.
