Classic...

I love serials, I love old adventure films, and I love DC Comics...

So when Disney animator Robb Pratt created his own little short featuring a retro-50's Man of Steel, I had to check it out. It's a fun little piece that's only about a minute long, but filled with geeky, pulp love. I know exactly where Pratt is coming from with this short. This has the same look and feel that I'd want for an Indiana Jones animated series. Call up Lucas and have him get Paul Dini to work with Pratt on a series. It'd be awesome!

And classic...

Hat Tip to /Film.

That was awesome. It's like Iron Giant meets the original noir-ish test animation for Batman the Animated Series. I'd totally tune into that if it was a weekly series on Cartoon Network.

Lasseter should let this guy direct a short and see how his chops work on something a little longer. It's always good to have a stable of trained directors for future features.

Lucas would be smart to take a guy like this and Dini, like you mentioned and create a engrossing animated series with his classic Man with a Hat. Put it on Cartoon Network or preferably DisneyXD and watch the fans flock to it. Then again, this is Lucas we're talking about here. He'll probably just make a series where Indy is getting old and Mutt travels the world with Short Round trying to find the fountain of youth for his dad. Sigh.

I loved the causaility loop here...

Max Fleischer's Superman cartoon, particularly the episode "Machanical Monsters", was one of the inspirations for Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow. Then Robb turns around and makes an homage to the robots in Sky Captain in his Superman 'toon.

Being a DC fan, I want to see this series get made!
