Fox Turns Fifty...

Fifty years ago today Walt DIsney put another series on ABC...

Zorro.

The legendary character was brought to life by Guy Williams in the late Fifties by the Old Maestro in a very successful television show that lasted from 1957-1959. ABC had planned on airing another season but Walt and the Network argued over money and he decided to pull the plug.

This series is something I hope gets released in a "Walt Disney Treasures" edition someday as I was hooked on both it and "Lone Ranger" reruns that we would watch daily at a friends house after school. Anyone happen to know Leonard Maltin's cell phone by any chance?

Even after half a century, Zorro still leaves his mark...

Zorro is Spanish for the Fox. That's why Honor put the Fox turns fifty...

That Honor, he's clever like a fox!

I grow up with this series and, thinking about this now, I realize that Zorro is really among the core heroes from my childhood. I loved the serie and I even didn't know (in that epoch) that this was a Disney's show.
The show still is pure fun.

This would make a wonderful Treasures set.

So much material in the Vault the hasn't seen the light of day in years, too bad since if Disney released it I WILL BUY IT.

I think we need Mr. Igers phone number too!

Klark,

This is another example of being a "Virtual Shareholder"...

There are places you can go to get Mr. Iger's address at TeamDisney Burbank.

Become pro-active. It all adds up in the end... so go for it.

Yes, but it's region 2, this is the DVD code for Europe. It's incompatible with American DVD players so unless someone has a scramble that allows you to play it, you're paying for a large paperweight.

Hopefully WDC will release it on region 1 sometime soon. With or without Leonard Maltin's commentary.
