Toy Storied...

Nice to see what I'm going to be doing come summer...

Walt Disney Pictures has finally released Pixar Animation Studios third trailer for "Woody & Buzz: The Golden Years" or as most people call it, "Toy Story 3" the movie.

Click over and take a look for yourself...

I am so excited for this movie to come out. I can't see this being the first Pixar movie to disappoint me. To be honest, all the movies they have in development sound like movies I would go out and see in a heartbeat. Pixar is just so reliable.

This looks amazing. The trailer really brings back childhood memories of seeing the first two in theaters.

The bear with the walking stick really does remind me of Stinky Pete in part 2.

Btw. No sign of Bo Peep \ sheep, R.C., Wheezey or any of the backgrounders from Andy's room.

Hope they are in there somewhere.

According to one of Lee Unkrich's twitter feeds; cited on Wikipedia here;
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toy_Story_3

He claims that Bo Peep and the other background toy's from Andy's room will be seen in the film. In a promotional spot online, he also mentioned that the green army men would be back as well

Although I gotta say, I am a little nervous. I'm hoping that their parts will not be too small. Of course, hearing from the director that those characters will in fact be in the film is reassuring.

RE: The Tangled announcement of sorts on facebook -

At least it's getting a reasonable concensous as "no" on the new title.

Also if this group is anyway a representation of the larger public then what the hell. Where have these people been? They are being fairly clear on what they want - e.g. 2D, traditional, erm. rapunzel

There is a disconnect somewhere.

Can't believe I've only seen the trailer for PatF on TV once. Only seen a billboard advert once. The only promotion before Disney movies on the Disney channels.

Avatars had like a good two month at the cinema, and a new release can't dent its strangle hold, one which should have been promoted and anticipated to the sky.

Tangled is screwed.

I looked at that facebook page. You conveniently left out the fact that there ARE a lot of people who are excited and are looking forward to the film.

Yes, the title has been changed. That is unfortunate, but that does not mean that the film it will have a bad story.
Yes, the movie is in CGI. again, that does not mean that it will have a bad story.

STORY is what counts in the longrun.

If a handful of people don't like the fact that its CGI, then TOUGH.

Dare I say, people are being VERY PETTY.

Would Chicken Little have been any better if it were hand-drawn? Hell no.

At the end of the day, its the STORY that counts, not the God damn animation method.

Disliking a film because it is computer animated, is very similar to disliking someone because of their skin color.

That's right. I said it. Food for thought.

So, a long time ago, I don't know where, I heard that this bear would be the bad guy for the film... I had been waiting for him to show up, and here he is!

Was that you Honor?

Also, I liked how they referenced Mrs. Potato Heads missing eye... I wonder if they intentionally had her leave it behind so as to keep... 'an eye' on what goes on in Andys room. Assume either that or it was knocked off where she couldn't get it before they left... as it's obvious she knows where it is at all times due to seeing through it.

Don't Care About Your Race Agenda said...

Oi dude at 10.54pm - Not making the point about 2D versus CG - I'm in the camp that thinks it best to be CG at present. You miss my point that when I read the comments the majority of people were saying "no" to "Tangled" - AS A NAME, not as a movie. I acknowledge that people are looking forward to A Rapunzel film (in whatever form or name), though it is expected to be the case as I'm sure only fans of WDAS would be fans on facebook etc.

And it really isn't the same as Racism. That analogy is quite offensive, but I agree its stupid to hate on one particular format.

I'm sure you wouldn't say that art fans that don't like a particular style (i dunno impressionalism) is akin to being Homophobic or Racist.

After all - animation is an art, and art is subjective.
Hating someone because of the color of their skin is neither art nor subjective.

Btw. Honor what the hell is going on when you let people start arguements like that, and block other posts which are harmless and ON TOPIC??

Judging by how Andy talks about Woody's character, is he recalling how he interpreted Woody's personality as a child or does he somehow find out the toys are sentient?!

/\ Just because you don't like what I say doesn't mean that I am wrong.

Being positive is smiled upon in society, being negative is typically frowned upon.

But now to get back on TOPIC;

Toy Story 3 looks very cool. I too, am glad that there is a plot point for Mrs. Potato Head missing her eye. I certainly hope that she gets is back by the end of the film!

Also, as a side note, notice that in the new trailer while Mr. Potato Head is describing his time in in the sand, the storage bins make the toys look like they are in prison, complete with the effect of "barbed-wire" above them.
Very nice details!

I too, like how they gave a plot point for Mrs. Potato Head missing her eye.
Also, when the toys are seen in storage at the daycare, I love how the staging makes them look like they are in prison. Complete with the effect of "barbed wire" above them!
Nice details!

/\ Sorry Honor about making the same comment twice...I wasen't sure if the first one made it. :-/

By the way;

I just want to go on record and say that the whole idea of the name
"Don't care about *insert witty title here*"
is not funny or amusing at all.
Its mean-spirited and spiteful.

This individual should spend more time writing a well-thought out comment rather then spending most of their time writing out "Don't care about..." and thinking of some witty placeholder.

As for TS3. I'm really excited!

...Also,
The choice of words; "Race Agenda" is completely stupid. That "Don't care abut.." guy totally missed the point.

I do not have an "agenda". The point is, people are judging a book by its cover by assuming that a CGI film is bad.

That "skin color" comment was simply an analogy.

..Sheesh...

Again, this is only for the record.

Toy Story 3 is going to be epic! :)
