Those are pretty awesome. I've come to realize that I simply trust Pixar's animated films inherently, especially as they become more and more esoteric :)But I'm terrified that some people are going to go all PC and say, "They are obviously making fun of the elderly and poor fat Asian kids."Sigh... :(
I'm not worried about 'Up'. I'm not entirely sure about Bolt or even the Frog and the Princess--the teaser out for the latter hasn't exactly won me over. Bolt looks better than Space Chimps, but is it in typical Pixar territory? I don't know. Not sure about that. But I feel confident that Up, like Wall*E and Finding Nemo and The Incredibles will be a great film, and do great box office. The folks waiting around for Pixar to fail are going to have to wait . . . maybe for a live action flop, but I don't think that even 1906, with Brad Bird in the director's chair, is going to do anything but clean up at the box office. For the time being, Pixar is untouchable.
The "poor fat Asian kid" definitely resembles Pixar animator Peter Sohn, better known as the voice of Emile. I wonder if he was ever a Boy Scout?
