Just In
Up for Best Picture and Best Animated feature
Princess and the Frog Best Animated feature. The others nominees are:
"Coraline"
"Fantastic Mr. Fox"
"The Secret of Kells"
might also mention Princess and the Frog got two nominations in best song category for 'Almost There' and 'Down in New Orleans'.
After being shut out in the golden globes for best song category i think this is pretty awesome. (Though one of the songs is not my choice. I'll take it.)
Logic says that because 'The Princess and the Frog' didn't get a Best Picture nomination and 'Up' did, 'Up' will automatically win Best Animated Feature. If it doesn't, then the whole thing is a sham. Personally, I'd rather 'Princess' win.
It's great that Up got a best picture nom but I wish it had happened under the traditional five-picture field (as opposed to this year, which has ten).

To me it says the opposite. Because Up got both the Best Picture & Best Animated Picture nominee I think it's more likely to not get either, and see princess get the best animated or something else.
we all know that Avatar will win best picture. Not because it deserves it, because hollywood loves to suck the ... James Cameron juice..
it would be amazing if "UP got best picture and Princess best animated. I really do not see any of the best pictures as worthy.
Avatar had nice effects but bad story, district nine? and some of the others just don't seem like they should be up there.
