Catching The Next Wave...
I can't wait for this one...
I remember watching these in reruns as a kid. Love the show, love the song, love the way it presents a wonderful view of good versus evil, justice versus lawlessness - Disney style.
Here's the 411...
On November 3, 2009 will release two volumes:
"Zorro: The Complete First Season" and "Zorro: The Complete Second Season." A six-disc set which will cost $59.99 bucks and have its 39 episodes in their original black & white format.
The four famous "third season" one-hour "Zorro" specials will be divided among the two disc sets, with each set getting two each.
A Leonard Maltin introductions is included of course, certificates of authenticity, Zorro pins and lithographs. You can't have a Walt Disney Treasures series without lithographs!
I'm so there...

Will the covers actually be black? or is this more photoshop trigger happyness?
As far as I know the covers will actually be black.
I was just wondering how these are different than the Zorro collections already available here:

The DMC versions, now more widely available, are fuzzy colourized versions. The Treasures will, I assume, be remastered, or at least look as good as all the recent 50's Black and White TV Treasures do.
Cool dark grey and gold tins too. There's a postcard inside each, along with a gold coloured button in each, one with a Z, the other with crossed swords.
I don't mind that there are no cartoons in this years's wave, hoping for more next year though. Along with more Spin and Marty, Annette, Disneyland etc.
Hunter,
This has nothing to do with this post, but what did you think of Star Trek? Would love to see your review...
BTW, I thought the casting was superb. The actors do a tremendous job of capturing the essence of the original characters, while also moving the characters in new directions. Very fun movie overall.

I remember staying up to watch Zorro on Vault Disney. I will definitely be getting these.
Question: Is there more than just Zorro or is that it? 'Cause if Disney has run out of ideas for for "Treasures", they could consider adding more from Goofy that they apparently skipped. Here's my post on what should go in "The Complete Goofy: Volume Two":

You might have to get rid of the spaces for the link to work. Anyway, that's my idea, but I wouldn't mind if you spread the word. Please?
Hear, hear, Acme Girl. I've been waiting since Wave 1 for a Treasures DVD with the TV shows featuring Walt Disney World, or at least some of the later TV shows featuring Disneyland. Remastered Zorro episodes are pretty cool, but there's got to be more Treasures-worthy material on the vaults.
