I saw the latest trailer for this and well what a weird trip. It probably is going to tank. The lead who I think is James Franco? is not credible, Mila Kunis may pull it off although I still see her as the girl from that 70's show.

I want to get excited but perhaps it will suffer from sfx overkill like some of the films coming out now.

Hopefully Disney and WDI will not spend a lot on putting this as an OZ land. Even Walt abandoned Lilipution land so I hope you are listening Mr Baxter.

This looks like another CGI heavy Disney fantasy. My biggest problem with these movies (Jon Carter, Alice in Wonderland) is that Disney doesn’t know when to scale back the CGI or at least do it so that it’s convincing. Often they create beautiful sets but fail to deliver convincing characters that can believably interact with live actors. Peter Jackson set the bar in Lord of the Rings and was able to achieve this in District 9 but Disney seems to often fall short. I hope that they prove me wrong this time but based on the trailers I have to roll my eyes and set my expectations pretty low when it comes to delivering realistic, organic, CGI characters. Let’s hope that this is not the case with Star Wars 3.0.
