Christmas Greedings...

Bah! Humbug on MoCap! Bah! Humbug on MoCap! Bah! Humbug on MoCap! Bah! Humbug on MoCap!

The poster for the Mouse's other holiday film is out...

Robert Zemeckis' next MoCap wonder will be out on November 6th. Will it be brilliant or will it be Bah! Humbug?

Waiting and watching...

after seeing the magic they pulled off in Benjamin Button, this will be child's play. aka bah humbug!

But that's jut a guess, I'll reserve judgment for when I see it. At least my expectations are low now.

Do we really need yet another version of this? The Christmas Carol remake cycle hit its low point with the stupid Muppet version. How can anything more be said about the story via yet another version? Enough already!

Muppets Christmas Carol was actually very touching, it had the great Michael Caine in it for gosh sakes.

Do we really need another retelling of this story? Not really. Original ideas are hard to come by though. We'll have to wait until Christmas to open this present, I hope it's a shiny new toy, and not a pair of home made socks.

MOCAP? More like MOCRAP.

Muppets Christmas Carol for me thanks, don't need to improve upon perfection.

I'm in no position to judge at all at this point. I love all of Jim Carrey's work, but recently Robert Zemeckis has made some bad movies, I really hate the motion capture technique, the characters look like wax figures. People consider it animation when it's not, it's cheating, the acotr dress up and then they add digital sensors and render their entire character into a digital character in a digital environment. Thye best visual effects now are those fopr Pirates like Davy Jones, Gollum, and King Kong. I'm still waiting for Hollywood to make an original movie, but this is a classic tale, so we'll see. Can't wait to see Burton's Alice in Wonderland.

I'm looking forward to it just for the tag line about greed. Will this be a commentary on some headlines we've seen regarding corporate greed, government buyouts with subsequent control? Will it meaningfully present a less is more approach to life? Is there hope that it will bring the original Dickens' message for Victorian England in similar parable fashion to contemporary America?

I have faith.

Besides, the background looks great anyway!

You know, it's funny. There have been many, many different film and TV versions of A Christmas Carol. However, only a few have truly captured Dickens' masterpiece. I'm eager to see how Zemeckis' film does with critics and audiences.

We've heard it's a really "dark" film. Not sure whether that will play or not. But, if you like Jim Carrey you should get your money's worth as he plays multiple rolls.

Alistair Sim's version is THE ultimate, inimitable version of CC. It's the best of the bunch.

For worst of the bunch, it's a tie between the TV bomb starring Kelsey Grammar and the movie with Kermit at his whiniest and Piggy at her fattest and ugliest. (The Muppets have sucked since Jim Henson passed).
