No Dog At The Box Office...

Pixar's "Up" made $21,400,000, on its Friday opening according to Box Office Mojo...

Wonder how those critics that felt the film would have limited appeal because the hero was a senior citizen and therefore, not very likable to the young kids that normally go see these films? Crickets, I hear crickets.

Is the premium charge for seeing the movie in 3D included in that? That could skew interpretations of the box office take a bit.

Up is one of the best and most fantastic movies I have seen in a while. It's one of my most favorite movies and animated movies of all time. Carl reminds me a lot of Spencer Tracy, one of the best actors ever and my mom's most favorite, you've gotta love senior citizens, what a life they've led, I love my grandpa and this movie. This movie is now up to a goo 68 million, and I think this is Best Picture of the year. One of the best movies I've ever seen, dreams do come true and lift your spirits UP!

The estimate does account for the 3D premium according to Nikki Finke:

However all things considered it shouldn't skew any interpretations of the box office as it crushes Monsters vs. Aliens.

It does, however, demonstrate another reason studios are embracing 3D. Making 2D picture quality as good as it can be just isn't profitable. People will keep going to AMC no matter how dark, blurry and skewed the image appears. I hope that as home theaters become more popular and advanced chain theaters go out of business. They simply don't care about the movie going experience.

And don't get me started on how they are bastardizing the Imax brand. Jesus...

And now, with Up at just over $68M for the weekend, it marks Pixar's third-best opening weekend ever, after The Incredibles and Finding Nemo. They have GOT to be riding high right now...

the moral of he story is that you are never too old to go on an adventure, that adventure comes in many forms and many ways.

the wifes adventure was being with the old man.

I bet the business man that wanted to buy the old mans house was the boy scouts dad.
