It's the "military industrial complex" that's fighting for your freedom and mine against terrorism forces that would like to see our free speech rights and our way of life squelched with Islamo facism.
As far as Disney being a capitalist tool. If we want to enjoy the rides and attractions as well as the entertainment, how should they be run if not capitalistically? Should they just let us in for free? If that was the case, they would be government run and the place wouldn't be half as nice. What is a nicer restroom to visit? The ones in a Disney park or a public restroom. Despite the fact capitalism can be and is abused, private enterprise does a better job than government ever can.
Finally, the fact that you used an ad hominem attack on the author shows you have no argument.
Thanks for the kind words, Honor. As an active duty AF officer (married to a confirmed Disney-phile), it's interesting to note that several AF unit patches still in use today were originally designed by Disney artists during WWII...including that of the famed Flying Tigers (my current unit).
God bless all service men and women. My prayers are with each and every one of you. Thanks for risking your lives and sacrificing your time to protect us!
One can be against the war, the president, and his administration...yet, still support the troops. Regardless, we are still ever so grateful and thankful for the job they are doing.
Anonymous, I believe you're missing the point of Honor's post. He is simply saying thank you to the men and women who have done and currently do the job.
We don't need a military. If we weren't going around killing thousands of innocent civilians then none of these countries would hate us and none of them would go to war with us. I believe we bring this on ourselves. If we weren't exploiting the other countries for their resources and plundering the earth of it's riches we would be in a much better place. Why aren't we using are soldier to help more victims of global warming caused hurricans like Katrina? Why couldn't we put those resources that we waste on an army or a navy towards building housing for the homeless instead of murdering Iraqi women and children in the dead of night? I don't understand how heartless, cold and evil you right-wingers can be.
^You need to be careful about how quickly you label people. You're judging some of our political views off of something that doesn't even pertain to them. Regardless of what party one is part of, we can be thankful for the service that the men and women in the military do.
If you had bothered to read my previous post, you would see that one can support the troops while NOT supporting the corrupt agendas of the president, his vice president, and his administration. From that, you should be able to tell that at least I am not a right-winger. Trust me, far, far from it. I do not rest my beliefs on party lines...at least not with the way both parties are structured in this country right now.
Like I said, you are very immature to so quickly label others' political point of views while you truly have nothing to base them off of. You would be surprised that at least for myself, I agree with much of what you said. While I do believe a military is necessary in the world we live in, their use should be for more positive things, while trying to not ever put them in harms way.
Regardless, and I'll say it for the last time, WE ARE SIMPLY THANKING THE TROOPS PAST AND PRESENT FOR THE SACRIFICE AND UNBELIEVABLY HARD WORK THAT THEY DO.
We don't need a military??? Obviously some anonymous person doesn't know their past and present WORLD history. If we didn't have a military then all of this would be moot since anonymous would have been one of the first to be "relocated" by the Nazis. As it's been said, freedom is not free and someone has to pay the price. That "someone" are all the people who serve in the military; past, present, and future.
I wasn't trying to be political, anonymous. But don't make loony statements hiding behind anonymity. This wasn't a discusioin about the current President. Perhaps you should go to a blog that is more political? I'm sure you could find someone more to your liking over at Daily Kos or the Huffington Post.
But seriously, I started getting really concerned about Iraq back in December 1998 when President Clinton addressed the nation and said that we know that Saddam Hussein is a threat and that he has WMD. Clinton's Press Secretary George Stephanopoulos said in 1997 that if necessary, we should take Saddam Hussein out.
Senators such as Ted Kennedy, Hilary Clinton and John Kerry said they knew that Saddam had WMD and authorized the invasion before we went there in 2003. Also, UN Inspector Hans Blix as well as Hussein's own General Georges Sada thought he had them as well. Since then the 3 Senators have had a change of heart as have a lot of people and that is an example of the beauty of freedom; we have a right to disagree with what our government does or is doing.
Finally, this shouldn't be about pointing fingers, this is about the troops and being there to support them. I'm proud of them; these are the real heroes. Not you, not me. They are.
Well, they are specially heroes when you think that they've been sent out there in iraq for not one good reason at all ( except to put the hands on the oil reserves ) It is an absolute shame that U.S army can be used like this , for fake reasons. Thousands of G.I have been killed , more injured, dozens of thousands of iraqi civilians dead and all this because of the absolute madness of the U.S administration .
So, yes, thanks the troops, but put this criminal administration out of the white house as soon as possible! Hey, i've got a good idea: why don't you send these brave soldiers to arrest all of them?
Enough of this political talk guys. This was simply to honor our serving men and women. I don't want us to get into a bunch of name calling and snipping. The focus of this blog is primarily Disney, but in honoring him, we also honor an America that Walt dearly loved. If you want to bash someone... stick to Eisner, Pressler and Braverman. Hehe... joking. Joking.'

You're a stooge for the military industrial complex. Just like Disney is a capitalist tool!

joshdj57,
you're a tool as well. You're too stupid to understand that Bush has got you all fooled. Sheep, that's what you are. Sheep.
