Games Begin...

There's a programmer out there somewhere...

Walt Disney Pictures has released the first "official" teaser poster for the "Tron Legacy" film...

You can find a hi-res version and a pic from the film over here.

Looks pretty cool but a little Speed Racer-ish. I seem to remember one that was posted several months ago, fan-made, that looked even better.

How come Disney's movie posters, commercials etc., now say only "Disney?" not "Walt Disney Pictures"
I don't know if I like that.

Gotta agree with Anonymous, the simple-single-worded "Disney" makes it sound a little kiddie IMHO.

I've been waiting for someone else to notice the new way they are using the "Disney" label. It's clearly a new branding strategy, because they very conspicuously used it on the "Christmas Carol" marketing and all of the TV ads for "Old Dogs" and "Princess and the Frog" prominently feature the one-word "Disney" label. I think it's a huge mistake and will really diminish the brand in the mind of the consumer.

That’s probably another example of Disney’s new “One Disney” initiative. Name everything the same, give them all the same logo and save money.

When you get a Disney business card these days, you have to actually read what division they are in since you cannot tell from the logo like you used to: Animator Mickey for Feature Animation, Clapboard Mickey for the Studio, Sorcerer Mickey for Imagineering, etc.

The more they move to “simplify” the company, the more bland it gets.

I hope DISNEY reads this and has rethinks their branding strategy.
