Bad Mutha...

One of the first official images of "Tangled's" new Disney Villain: Mother Gothel...

And if you want to know a little more about her, then here is a nice little short that Walt Disney Animation Studios has come out with. It explains a bit more about her motivations and gives a sense that this isn't just a DWA rip-off like some have gotten from the trailers.

Awaiting November...

Why is it that Dreamworks always has to put the "stars" names above the title of their films? As if seeing Will Farrell's name is going to get me to go see a movie.

I can hardly wait to get home to view the trailer. (It's blocked at work.)

It looks like a Dreamworks movie, no "nice little short" can change that...

Still not really looking forward to it, it looks lame...

Looks like fun.

Um. I'm really sorry, but I'm getting all kinds of DWA vibe from this. And the only compelling character is the damn HORSE. What's he all about? Why is he dueling the pretty boy?

And what's the deal with the chameleon?

I don't see why people get a DWA vibe from this. What about this video gives you that vibe?

"What's he all about? Why is he dueling the pretty boy? And what's the deal with the chameleon?"

Go watch the movie and find out!

Of course we all will watch the movie and find out, but compared to the excitement I had last year with TPATF, this year it's down to zero...

I hope "normal" people will be excited for this and flock to the theatre in November...

At least Honor tries to make us excited and that's a good thing :)

I couldn't agree more. And couldn't have said it better myself.

Sadly, the Internet is full of haters. People get to be vocal without consequences.

--You know Honor, perhaps you should just consider disabling the comments on all of your posts. It would certainly save you a big headache. (And after all, it certainly helped prevent bad comments with your 9/11 anniversary post this year)
In the few years that you have been doing this blog, a lot of the comments on it have gotten less and less intelligent as the years go by.

Long-range tracking @ $35MM? Way too early. Despicable Me was tracking relatively poorly according to Universal before its release in July and was able to change that literally four weeks (or less) before opening. It ended up doing north of $230MM domestic.

When did "Hater! Hater!" become the equivalent of "nyah nyah nyah"?

Some people need to grasp the incredibly complex notion that other people might actually disagree with them because they might be *gasp* WRONG.

As for this movie, its marketing looks so desperate it's turned me completely off of the film. I don't like Flynn at all. I don't get the chameleon either. While the horse does interest me because he actually made me laugh. Does that make me a "hater"?

Still not going to see the movie though. Any more than I'm going to see Megamind. I'm already sick of the aren't-we-clever vibe from DWA, and therefore a blatant imitation of it makes me even sicker. Disney should be DISNEY and not be afraid of itself or of its glorious past. When I see a trailer for Tangled that respects that past maybe I'll change my mind.

Wow, you are thick skulled aren't you? No matter how many people tell you that it's not like DreamWorks, you won't believe them. And worse, you won't see it for yourself to find out. I don't think Lasseter is going to lower the standards he brought from Pixar to make a DreamWorks film. You seem to be rooting for its defeat. If it is as bad as you say it will be, it should fail, but we've gotten quite a few reviews and post that say otherwise. But you will have none of it. No, it sucks. You can tell that from a two minute clip. You're not a hater, you're a closed minded whiner. Go see it and if its bad then post on here and everywhere else: See! I told ya so! But see it to make sure. I've seen many movies that had bad trailers or looked bad, but then the reviews and word of mouth made me give it a chance.

Don't blame Lasseter for the idiots in marketing. They didn't make the film. Sheeesh.

Perhaps you should take your own advise?

From all the things I've seen about it, it's not a DreamWorks film like the trailer seems to insinuate.

I guess you're too gullible to think that the 120 seconds don't necessarily make the movie? Wow, you're a deep thinker. I bet you buy everything they tell you in commercials? All those things politicians promise you?

Gullible and sad. Stay home and sulk, little child.

I'll go get your bottle.

Soo....if I'm supposed to ignore movie trailers, why the hell do movie studios make them?

Golly gee, I was under the impression that movie trailers are supposed to make you excited to see a film. But the trailers for Tangled are a major fail in that regard, and so I'm not excited to see the film, and you dipwads are acting like it's MY fault. You say "Ignore the trailers! The film is the greatest Disney film since Fantasia!" and THAT I'm supposed to believe? As opposed to the trailers?

You're damn rude about it too, so screw you.

Tangled=PASS. I'll leave it to little girls and their mommies.

Maximus IS a very compelling steed indeed. He steals the show in many scenes. But once you get site of Pascal, you will fall in love with him.
