Brave, One Week...

Princess movies are so passe, wait, they're not...

Pixar Animation Studios has delayed the release of next summers film by one week...

The 13th animated feature from the Lamp, "Brave" has been moved from June 15, 2012 to June 22, 2012. Most likely as counter programming for "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter." This will be the Little Emeryville Studios' first princess film. So I guess royalty at the Mouse isn't dead after all?

Now, it'll be interesting when both studios announce their line-up for films after 2013/14...

I think the move was probably made to provide an extra week of space between Brave and Madagascar 3, which comes out on June 8.

Are you saying that Disney has nothing to do with Brave? It's strictly a Pixar movie? I'm confused and not entirely awake yet!

Why not to May? They'd have May all to themselves.

As is, they're still firmly sandwiched between Madagascar 3 and Ice Age 4.

They may not be able to get it ready in time for May. But you make a good point, There aren't alot of releases in May right now. Disney will have "The Avengers" but that's early May. MIB3 is slotted for Memorial Day weekend, but it could end up getting delayed for all the trouble it's having.

Connie, that depends on what you mean by "nothing". Disney owns Pixar, so Disney is distributing the film and the film has been sreened by Disney's top execs. Other than that this is a 100% Pixar product.

wasn't Reese Witherspoon once involved in this cartoon?

Reese still is involved--playing the protagonist, in fact.
