Wanting A King...

Word has it that Fox's "King of the Hill" may get picked up by ABC...

The show may be crudly animated, but it's one of the best written shows, comedy or not, on television.

So even though Fox cancelled the show, the King may still reign over at the Alphabet Network.

Sorry I despise that show. It is crude and tacky. That's just me though. I don't like South Park either or the Simpsons. You can bet my kids will never watch any of those. I say goodbye and good riddance. But to each his own. :)

Does anyone actually watch this show religiously? I've never met anyone who would put this as a top 10 show for themselves

I'm surprised that you'd call the show crude and tacky. I've always found it fairly clean. I'll admit some of the characters can be a little over the top (Dale Gribble comes to mind), but the show itself always seems to push a message of old school values... Hank can be a bit prudish and Peggy way too self assured, but the characters at their core, want only to teach their son that decent living, and good honest hard work are the surest way to a truly happy life.

South Park is at the complete opposite end of the spectrum in my opinion, and the Simpsons hover somewhere way in the middle... Both are extremely funny, but I can definitely understand why they'd turn some folks off. As you said, to each his own. :)

I wouldn't put King of the Hill in my top ten, but it would be up there in the top 15... As they say, it takes a certain kind. and I (unfortunately) am just that kind. :)

I love this show, but it is very underrated programs with its overrated (*cough*American Dad and Family Guy) partners. It represents common America at a fair point, and its one of the few primetime shows that actually has an Asian American family in recurring roles, something that is rarely see on White television.

It's a good show but it's old and tired. I wish Disney would just try and come up with their own original TV toon sometime.

Animated series seem to be a bit of an acquired taste. I am a big fan of KotH so I would love to see someone pick it up but I don't think it will do well at ABC unless it is paired with another animated show.

"or the Simpsons."

So you're a nut, then.

The Simpsons in its heyday was the greatest television show ever made.

I'm a big King of the Hill fan. Watching an episode right now. I am more amazed that, in its frequently interrupted slot, it has lasted so long.

Spokker, why do you always have to be so nasty to people?

Depriving a child the chance to develop a sense of humor is much worse. Either the kid will be a boring, white washed adult or rebel in his/her teenage years.

I can see not letting a young kid watch the Simpsons, but when they turn 12, 13, 14? It's ridiculous to shield your child in such a way.

I can't imagine what that home is like.

I love the show.

Great story telling and good values and doesn't use obvious humor like Family Guy.

If any show need to be canceled it is The Simpson. FOX has completely ran that show into the ground.

He has always been a nasty person. He has been banned from multiple Disney message boards because he is simply a sick sick person when he reveals his thoughts on various subjects, people, and situations.
