The Fourth Post...

Yo, ho, yo, ho...

The first poster for "Pirates of the Caribbean : On Stranger Tides" has been released...

Wonder what they're trying to sell here? Obviously, Jack Sparrow is playing an important role in this, but it'll be nice when we get to see Ian McShane and other in a more flashing sheet.

I can't wait to see how they continue the storyline from the original trilogy into this trilogy.

Yes, I know, you heard me say that. It's not earth shattering, and it doesn't require brain surgery to come to this conclusion. One doesn't have to have their head in Fantasyland to realize what success will mean for this franchise in film and attractions. A hit is a hit.

But if this one is a hit you can believe that there will be more to follow..

That is one lame, unimaginative poster.

Well, they are showcasing the only reason people would care about this movie, because the minute Johnny Depp tells them "I'm done with this", it's game over for the only franchise they have.

I'm not sure why, but I'm just not that interested in this. I will probably see it when it comes out in theaters, but it's not on the top of my list. I think they may be killing this franchise by trying to do too much with it. I know there's more new characters and places they're going in this one, but really it just seems like its more of Jack Sparrow. I almost think they should call it "The Adventures of Capt. Jack Sparrow".
If things keep going like they are in Hollywood though, I would expect a re-boot of this franchise in about 5 years, and a prequel to this series with tales of a young Jack Sparrow.

I can't wait to see them ignore Pirates 2 and 3! I really, honestly do, hope that this film is good and more like 1 than its sequels.

Unfortunately it is more of Jack Sparrow, who was great as a foil in 1 but really could not carry 2 and 3. I would love to see them make Pirates stuff that does not involve him. There was going to be that game, but it got cancelled... Maybe a TV cartoon? A different film franchise?
