The Propheteer...

There's a really nice article over at Fortune/CNN Money about Bob Iger and how his stewardship of the Mouse has led to much better times and profits after the dark, last days of Monsieur Ei$ner...

Give it a read.

Thank you for finding and posting that link. What a great article. He just seems like a very down to earth guy.

I think that the Eisner/Wells days were better than the Iger days.

I heard that when Frank Wells died things started going downhill.

They've picked up again, but for every step forward there seems to be a step back.

Ya the Eisner/Wells days were great with such rapid growth for the company. Plus animation was doing great at the time. But even then Eisner already seemed to create a tough work culture. Although it is tough to know how things are today in that regard.

Enough with the doom and gloom predictions already, Spokker.

You know that the Iger days have been going great and have been better than the post-Wells Eisner days.

When Iger chose to dump Narnia, that's when the honeymoon truly ended for me. Any optimism I had about the new Disney leadership has died. The company's being run by people with a similar bean-counting non-risk-taking agenda to Eisner's. (No, I am not a Christian.)

For my part, when I heard that Eisner pushed Katzenberg out of Disney, that's when I knew that the dark days were a-comin'...

Narnia wasn't a stong enough brand. It is smart business to drop it and move on. I don't see why that would make you lose faith in Iger and the company.
