Telling Bedtime Stories...
The trailer for Adam Sandler's first role in a family film is out...
"Bedtime Stories" is a tale of a crazy, child-like uncle who tells stories to his niece and nephews before they go to sleep, only to realize that they come true. I know some people say that Sandler already makes movies for children(No comment from the peanut gallery here), but this is different...
This is a Disney children's film.
And it's pretty cute, too...

I think Sandler has made a lot of family comedies. Stuff like Big Daddy, and 50 First Dates and Click is sentimental family stuff, compared to Billy Madison and Happy Gilmore and the Water Boy
It's interesting that another movie coming out InkHeart has a similar premise to this movie. Website:http://www.inkheartmovie.com/
There are no original ideas...
Only original ways of presenting old ideas.
;)
And the last time Sandler acted outside his "frat boy" repertoire was in Punch Drunk Love. We all know what a fabulous film that was. I strongly suggest that the writers go back and rewrite the script with Sandler as the drunk uncle who obnoxiously spews forth incoherent bedtime stories. It's the only role Sandler can handle in such a film.
This looks awesome. I mean, supper duper awesome. I really liked Click a lot (my wife hated it for some reason), enjoyed Big Daddy and 50 First Dates, but this looks great. Love the opening. I'm going to enjoy this. I already laughed out loud watching the trailer.
Mega-Awesome.
Don't forget Reign Over Me with Don Cheadle. I felt that was a great example of how Sandler is trying to move outside of his goof-ball image.
I'm not sure that Big Daddy counts as a family comedy - it is about forming a family but isn't something I would let my kids watch. I think that this may count as his first movie that the whole family can watch. I like all the different aspects of Adam Sandler, and I am looking forward to seeing how this movie turns out.
I happened to have loved "Punch Drunk Love"...
I think this is going to be a great movie. really cool idea
