Tron Hacked...

A virus/review of the script for "Tron 2" has finally arrived...

It's from Cin City 2000 and it's an early draft so we know that things have changed since this one, but for those that are interested in finding out some of the details of the sequel to the 80's cult film, delve right in.

"CLICK ME"

Don't worry, I don't think it's a virus/trojan horse/worm or something else, but be warned that spoilers are ahead...

Hat Tip to Latino Review.

It was in English.

You can read English, right?

I'm not fluent in Geek Speak. That's why I'm afraid for this movie. Will the average movie goer be interested in this project? I'm wondering how they're justifying the $300 million dollar price tag. Just because the crowd at Comicon went wild over the teaser, doesn't mean that the general public will. I'm not trying to ruffle feathers here, I'm just stating what I'm sure a lot of people in Hollywood are thinking. I wish the film the best.

Yeah, that Matrix film was a bomb, wasn't it? Nobody could understand all that gobbledy gook. That's why it went down in flames.

And the budget is nowhere near $300 million btw. Close to $200, but not three.

The Wachowski's owe a debt of gratitude to Tron. It was the original Matrix and it was decades ahead of its time. Sherman, set the way back machine to 1982 NO ONE understood it except for video game junkies and computer geeks. Tron failed at the box office but for those that got it knew it would be regarded as a cult classic. Now we take you 27 years later and Tron 2 is coming out and has been influential in computer animation and cyberpunk. It will be bigger this time around than it was the sleeper cult classic it was in 1982... the SAME year by the way as another sleeper cult classic by the name of Blade Runner.

Tron was a cool little film, one of my childhood favorites, however it wasn't the original Matrix. That'd be Dark City.

While I pretty much agree with everything said in the script review, I expect it will get better by the time it's finally done (especially with John Lasseter watching over it), and I'm going to enjoy the heck out of that movie, even if it's overtly secular or retreads too much of the original. Mostly, I just want them to keep it in the original Tron world, and not get to cutesey with references to MySpace or Facebook or any of that kind of crap. The fact they keep with so many abstract techno sounding names sound promising for that. No new characters introduced called "Blogger" or "ebay". Thank goodness.
