Egyptian Clone Wars...

George Lucas' new Clone Wars film will have its American premiere at The American Cinematheque's Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood this evening with a discussion panel afterwards with CW director Dave Filoni, producer Catherine Winder and several others.

I wonder if one of the questions during the discussion panel will be: "Why does the story revolve around Jabba the Hutt's son?"...

I am so over hearing about clones. And everything else that is not really disney but might have a slight tie in. What is this blog about? Maybe you should change the name, or write about disney. Just my thoughts

I love your Disney posts--they are top notch, and sometimes better than what I've found elsewhere.

But Lucasfilm just isn't Disney. Yes, some of the characters are in Disney parks, but George Lucas is no Walt. One only needs to watch the prequel trilogy or Indy 4 to know that he doesn't care about story--he cares about technology.

I'd love to see less about Lucas and would love to see you stick to the Disney stuff--it's really what led me here and why I will stick around.

BTW, still so happy with your post on WDA's new site. One of the best things I've read this week.

I can't believe Lucas' arrogance. The animation in the ads looks like bargain-basement CGI of a similar quality with Nickelodeon's "Tak and the power of Juju" or "Back To the Barnyard" - but at least THOSE shows are FREE. Why oh why is that senile old fart in love with the second SW trilogy, with its empty characters and boring storyline? When he makes a *decent* First Trilogy toon starring Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia and Han Solo - and gets the original actors to do the voices - then I'll be willing to shell out 8 bucks for what he's selling. Until then, no dice.

The original Cartoon Network Clone Wars shorts are known for being better than Ep1 and Ep2 combined. If it's as good as that then this movie might surprise people

I like it when Honor talks about Lucasfilm stuff. Anyway, I think the Clone Wars as Yoda would say "suck, very badly it will." A good panel question that everyone would be too afraid to ask is "why isn't George Lucas in Arkham Asylum yet?"

I was mortified to see how they did the animation for this. I LOVED what they did with the "Clone Wars" miniseries myself. I would have bought a ticket to see that in a theater. They should have done the style in that manner for continuity IMO. Oh well, I'll wait for the DVD & judge it then...

The animation is in Singapore, it was never going to be good quality, just the cheapest for George to produce!

I saw it, and trust me...this movie sucked. It's something that can only really be enjoyed by the star wars geek set.
