Disney Anime...

It appears we know what one of Disney XD's first programs will be...

Variety is reporting that "RoboDZ", an animated television show co-produced by Walt Disney Television an Toei Animation will wind up being broadcast on the newly rebranded channel early next year. February, to be exact.

The story is about three three robots that protect humanity(and robots) from alien invaders...

Developing.

With the exception of the Studio Ghibli films, anime is the worst thing to ever be invented.

That is over-generalization. Are you saying that anime is worse than nucular bombs or nerve gas? It is a visual art form. There is great anime beyond Studio Ghibli like Cowboy Bebop.

Anime is awesome. There's plenty of great anime outside of Studio Ghibli. Try watching Ghost in the Shell.

Yes.

Inuyasha and Full Metal Alchemist are great animes too. And then of course there's Kingdom Hearts, a successful series of video games based on a cross between classic American Disney and classic Japanese anime. It's amazing how well they mix. Wish Disney would consider making a movie out of it...

I usually agree with what Spokker says, but as mentioned above, I disagree with his views on anime. Some people think anime consists only of crappy stuff like Pokemon and Speed Racer, but these people don't know what they are missing out on by dismissing all (or almost all) anime.

any bets that the anime stitch series from the same animation studio (premiering in japan this october) will be making its way to XD?

I like anime, but I consider it to be more in the line of junk food. I'm not looking for a greasy cheeseburger from a fancy French restaurant (although I might accept ratatouille). This is not an area where I'm looking for anything particular good or innovative to come from Disney.

Hope I'm wrong. Doubt I am.

I really don't like the anime influence on cartoons like Teen Titans on cartoon network, and I'm certainly not looking forward to any Disney properties making the jump to anime.

Anime is not worse than nerve gas, and some anime can be fairly engaging, in a bag-of-oily-overly-salted-potato-chips sort of way. But that's not really the sort of thing I want to see from Disney.

Even if the shows have engaging stories (I liked a lot the Teen Titans), the anime-style animation can be distracting and work against those sorts of shows. Stitch as anime? I think I'll pass.
