A Real Mickey Mouse Idea...

On this day, sixty years ago employees of Walt Disney Products get a memo from the Old Maestro describing an idea he has for a little project he's been working on entitled: "Mickey Mouse Park"...

How can you report on such trivial tripe when the government is just letting thousands of innocent lives be destroyed by this hurricane?

Hopefully the Obama administration will do something about stopping these hurricanes and deal with man's damaging footprint on global warming, unlike the current administration that believes it's living in Disneyland.

interesting that he originally called it a mickey mouse park. Wonder if it originally had a different concept then what it ended up as.

che wha, hate to break it to you, but George Bush doesn't control the weather. And neither can Obama, so I think you'd better forget about Your Redeemer "stopping these hurricanes". The man doesn't walk on water, although he does display some fancy footwork when it comes to sidestepping tough questions. As for Gustav, everyone involved in dealing with this storm is doing their best to protect the people in its path, as you'd know if you actually watched the news instead of just visiting left-wing blogs. As for New Orleans/Katrina, I pretty much stopped feeling sorry for the citizens of the Big Easy when they re-elected that crook Nagin, who was the one TRULY responsible for misspending funds meant to service the levees.

Now back to the subject...it's an amazing thing, the risks Walt took, the courage he had, and the vision he believed in, that came together to give us his ultimate creation, Disneyland. I can't imagine a world without his parks in it. I hope that WDW, along with everyone endangered by the coming storm, will go through it intact. Thanks for the reminder and remembrance, Honor.

re: Che wha?
This is a blog about Disney, why were you expecting a post about Gustav? And why are you reading this site in the first place if you think its trivial tripe? I'm confused.

I'm voting for Obama, but I feel the tone of your message does a disservice to his campaign and platform.

re: Anonymous,
I read blogs from left, right, and center, and I haven't seen any that say that everyone (conservative or liberal) isn't doing their best to evacuate the area and prepare for the worst. We can disagree on politics without having to resort to personal attacks and hyperbole.

The first poster ruined the tone of this wonderful tid-bit of news. This is no place for politics.

I love when concept art is included in a story. Thanks Honor.
