Attack Of The Tweens...

Well, it looks like High $chool Musical 3 was the big winner at the box office this weekend...

Duh.

The second sequel to the original “High School Musical pulled in $42 million over the weekend. Can anyone doubt there's going to be a part 4? The tween blockbuster also raked in over $40 million overseas, where it opened up in 22 markets with more yet to come.

That's over 80 million in three days. I guess Iger and company are all smiles right now.

Now, they look toward November and a little movie they hope does just as well, or better...

Preferably better.

Yup. There was never a doubt in my mind that HSM3 would be number one movie opening weekend.

I'm really looking forward to Bolt, and I REALLY hope that it does well.

Luckily for Disney, the next Harry Potter film was pushed to Summer 09 instead of opening on Nov. 21.

Disney really dodged bullet there.

It looks like people still have money to spend, even with the economy the way it is now. I hope that park attendance stays strong as well. Let us hope that Bolt is a hit, even more so now with Potter out of the way.
