A Pirates Life For He?

The next Pirates film won't be happening for a while, but already, the rumors are starting to spread...

One of the most interesting is that since Gore Verbinski is busy directing two different projects right now, Disney is going to turn to another veteran director that's worked with Johnny Depp quite a bit...

Time Burton.

A very interesting choice if it's true. You don't really know for sure, after all, you can't really trust the word of a pirate...

Even if you say parlay.

Time? Honor Hunter...you're up too late! LOL!

That could be an interestingly good fit for another episode. Mr. Burton certainly did a great job with The Nightmare Before Christmas as far as keeping it kid-friendly yet still very much "Tim Burton" style storytelling. If Mr. Verbinski could be in the loop to keep that special touch of his alive, the combination could be fantastic!

I agree. Tim Burton would be a very interesting choice to direct a 4th Pirates Installment. Pirates 2 and 3 got a little convoluted. I think a fresh eye might be just the thing for a 4th Pirates Installment.

It will likely be a series, probably 3 films, so someone with the vision of Time Burton could work.

Or even Tim Burton, his better known cousin.

We tease. We tease because we love.

It also may have had something to do with the fact that Tim Burton didn't actually direct Nightmare, Henry Sellick did.

Burton is a loon. Pirates 2 and 3 was ruined because Johnny Depp had too much creative control. Burton will now ruin Pirates 4. Please no comments from sycophants like "you do not understand them."

i won't say anything about your comment in general, everyone has their own opinions, but you should back up a comment like that with something more substantial, no?

The scene with Depp on the ship in the 'desert' land in Pirates 3 virtually ruined the whole movie. The scene is a result of Depp getting too much creative control. Burton's style is not appropriate for the Pirate series (i.e. the movie Corpse Bride.

i think tim burton is one of the most overrated directors out there. has he made a single good film since sleepy hollow? (the corpse bride was fine i guess, but hardly even feature-length; and don't try to defend sweeny todd: it was weak all around).
tim burton thinks it's a good idea to re-make planet of the apes and charlie and the chocolate factory, two of the greatest films of all time, and, surprise, his unique vision pales in comparison to the originals. they were embarrassingly bad.
the number of good films he has made are few and far between. i certainly hope he doesnt get the chance to ruin the pirates series.
