Out Of The Night, When The Full Moon Is Bright...
Fifty-two years ago on this day on the ABC Network, Walt Disney premiered his "Zorro" series for kids young and young at heart...
I remember watching this adventure show fondly in reruns when I was a wee little one with its memorable opening. It comes out on DVD this November and I can't wait to watch Guy Williams do his swordplay.
He was Johnny Depp before Johnny was...

My favorite memories of Zorro is the movie starring Alain Delon that CBS used to air almost every year back in the 70's with the song "Here's to being free la-la-la-la-la Zorro's back." This of course was before George Hamilton did Zorro the Gay Blade in the 80's which was kind of funny but dumb. Antonio Banderas was great as Zorro in Mask of Zorro but the sequel was awful. When I saw Zorro getting drunk with his horse after being served divorce papers by Catherine Zeta Jones I knew that the masked bandit had reached an all-time low.
The Zorro I remember from growing up in the 80's was the comedy version that I'm pretty sure was aired on Wonderful World of Disney. The main thing I recall is Zorro jumping to swing from the chandelier and missing, which became a running joke for the rest of the episode ("He moved it!").
What I would really be willing to pay $60 for is a season-by-season release of the Disneyland TV series!
