Tron Legacy Trailer 2.0...

December, why are you the last month of the year...

Walt Disney Pictures has released a new trailer for "Tron Legacy" just as their Comic-Con panel starts up...

Oh. My. God.

No need for further commentary.

Watch it...

I am giddy with excitement!

Loved the poster for The Black hole in young Sam Flynn's bedroom.

I find it interesting that Disney is advertising the film being presented in RealD 3D.

Oh. My. Golly. Cannot. Wait. Looks brilliant.

Hope it does the box office to back it up. I can't wait to see it. In 3d.

I dont get the Tron hype. Maybe its not my generation...I never saw the first and this looks, just, like I couldn't care less about it.

It visually looks amazing, but I can't get past that it feels lacking in interesting narrative. I mean, the trailer just comes off as big and loud and dumb. Dumber than the first Tron. Probably as slowly paced.

It would have been nice to have seen Tron in... Uh, "TRON." You know, the character "Tron"? The movie is called "TRON:Legacy," right? Why not just rename it "Flynn:Legacy," since this seems to be all about Flynn?

I truly hope they don't pull a "Rinzler is really Tron except corrupt / undercover" stunt but, knowing the main demographic here (young boys and their mental equivalents), I'm sure that it'll be all Sam, all the time. Here's hoping that they have at least a nice Tron / Flynn reunion cameo in this that doesn't screw up either character too much...

Waiting more for the video game at this point then the movie. Hopefully, Disney will be smart this time and release the SDK...

I'm afraid I must agree. Where's Tron? We see Boxleitner as Alan but it's all about Flynn (again). Kevin Flynn just never seemed like the type of guy to have a kid. Alan and Laura were hooked up in the first film so it would have made more sense that they had the kid. I want to see Boxleitner re-rezed as Tron and not just a gratuitous cameo either.

Here's Hoping Tron makes a save the day appearance and is at least in the 2nd half of the film.

Tron is just a cool name... but it's named after the character...

As impressive as the trailer is and the special effects there's something that bugs me about the look of 35 year old Jeff Bridges that doesn't quite look like he did when he was that age. Mostly it's how angled his eyelids are. They weren't nearly that angled when he was younger. And his brows don't seem quite natural nor his cheeckbones when he's delivering his lines. Something odd and not quite natural looking about it. I know he's supposed to look like a computer rendered program but if you put him side-by-side with young Jeff Bridges it would look obvious who was the real McCoy, er, Dude. Perhaps that is a fortuitous flaw much like the "glitches" produced by the film stock emulsion on the original film.

Apparently Tron is the name of the system that Kevin Flynn calls it in homage to his friend Alan's security program after he came back at the end of the first movie so that's why it is still called "Tron" or to be more precise, why it is called "Tron Legacy" because it is about the system they created and not about the program Tron (though I hear he does make some kind of a cameo).

Sorry---this looks so substandard--especially the cg/mo-cap Jeff Bridges. Really cheap looking--and certainly not as imaginative as the original.

Let's hope all those reshoots do it some good. Gonna need it.
