Alain over at Disney and More has some more info about the new Toy Storyland that is being build at Walt Disney Studios in Paris for a tentative 2010 opening...
Go over and read about it and pray that the economy starts to get better, because even better things are planned than this.
But that's not a Toy Story, that's another story...

If you don't think so, then you've not really read his website. And that's sad because he has some really exciting stuff coming up...
Not really sure on multiple attraction lands based on single movies or franchises. Never have been. I guess if it was just a toy theme I would feel better.

Anyway I hope some good rides come from this. Planning my 1st DL Paris trip for this year (the shame since I live so close - lol), and then hopefully a few years down the line if this goes well.
While I'll admit that Toy Story has some strong character personalities, I find the design of the whole film to be especially unappealing. Most of that is due to the relative primativeness of the CGI tech back in 95, but even so, the whole plastic toy, oversized building block motif as theme park architecture gets old really really fast. I can't say that as a whole land, a giant Buzz Lightyear makes an appealing icon. I'd love to see a Toy Storyland that was designed like Star Command- not the Toy packaging Graphics Star Command that's portrayed at the Various Buzz Lightyear attractions, but a real star Command where you felt like you were in the "real" Buzz Lightyear's world, or a cartoon 50's western town with a Woody/Jessie attraction. But just putting a bunch of oversized classic boardgames and Etch a Sketch together and calling it a queue area is falling back on the same "in joke" type of humor that the Pixar folks have already beaten to death in their films. Thank goodness the later films have moved beyond that for the most part. Let's home Lasseter can convince WDI that they are capable of a bit more sophistication, even if the attraction their designing for was not.

We don't need carnival rides and a huge Buzz Lightyear in our Studios park. It started to look better. A giant 3D add for TS3 will not make it better :( Don't forget it's 2009 and the opening date is 2010. So they have to build this in 1 year, even the Cars ride took longer...
We need a darkride!!!
