Nick Cage To Star In Matrix 4...

There you have one of the pictures of what Nicholas Cage looks like as the Sorcerer in Disney's live-action take on the Fantasia segment...

What the?

Man, this had better be one heck of a script is all I'm saying...

Proof that this is one that should have gone straight to DVD... I don't know anything about it other than this looks terrible and Nicholas Cage will guarantee that it cant be good.... too bad I had hopes for how it might turn out when I first heard they were making this into a feature film

Wow...this looks even worse than I expected. And I expect anything with Cage in it to be utter dreck.

Are they letting Mickey reprise his role as the apprentice or have they re-cast that part?

what a crappy photoshopped shadow.

You were saying Hunter about how the Matrix sequels were all the Wachowskis' fault and not the Suits? I beg to differ. There is the proof.

Reminds me more of Van Helsing than Matrix...

Yeah, well whatever your proof my friends that worked with them would beg to differ. The Wachowskis had NO interference from the Suits after "The Matrix" was such an enormous hit. They were first offered the reboot of the Batman franchise and turned it down to work on their trilogy. The Suits gave them almost everything they wanted and there was very, very little that they said no to. Joel Silver made sure that the brothers vision was maintained.

why would anyone expect a remake of the Mickey version. You DO realize the Sorcerer's Apprentice is a Goethe poem, right? Walt didn't make it up.

I am assuming this movie is a re-telling of the poem, not Fantasia. Then again, I don't know anything about the project, but based on the pics here I'd say it's a re-telling of the poem.

I might be against everyone but this film looks sweet! a modern twist on the sorceror's apprentice sounds really cool. 2 thumbs up and i will def see this movie!

Gut reaction - a little disappointed with Nic Cage. Couldn't they have cast a little closer to the original source material, or at least Fantasia's older sorcerer. I won't fully condemn until more develops on the project.

eary April Fools maybe?

1. I think Matt's right, it reminds me more of Van Helsing than The Matrix.

2. Most of Nicolas Cage's films have been pretty bad the last couple years but have you guys not seen Adaptation., Matchstick Men, The Weather Man, or Lord of War? Those are all good films starring Cage from the past five years or so.

3. Ah, Gandalf Stormcrow, I'll do you one better. Christopher Lee as Yensid (although I guess they're calling him something different this time around).

You guys are judging the credibility of the movie on a handful of pictures you don't even know the context of? What did you expect, a big pointy blue wizards hat with stars on it?

>>>1. I think Matt's right, it reminds me more of Van Helsing than The Matrix.<<<

Well, it's a good thing this has nothing to do with the Matrix, then.

Dunno, if you meant that last comment for me or not but my whole point about his other movies, was he's obviously been in some good stuff, so we shouldn't assume this one's going to suck right off the bat. Although based on the director's resume I'm expecting something pretty middle of the road.

Also, I merely said his outfit looks like the one from Van Helsing nobody ever said this actually had anything to do with that movie or The Matrix.

I'm going to have to side with the above.
