Reynolds Is The Emerald Warrior...

It's confirmed...

The trades (as in Variety) have just confirmed it. Ryan Reynolds is Green Lantern. So all you N Sync Haters can rejoice. I'd say I'm happy with the choice, I think he'll make a very good GL, but he would have made an even better Flash (he was connected to David Goyer's failed attempt of the Scarlett Speedster at one time). Most of the comic geeks/friends I've talked to about this are happy with the casting, but the question is...

Is Marvel?

No one wants to see The Green Lantern movie. No one ever heard of the green lantern; Iron Man worked as an obscure hero movie cause it was well done and based on science fiction which people can swallow.

The Green lantern shoots green magic rays outs of his magic ring.

you like Hudson Hawk Toole, that disqualifies you right there.

Hey, I dig Green Lantern. I like Reynolds too, although it's weird with his Deadpool commitments. Still kind of liked the Nathan Fillion idea...

Out of the three finalists Reynolds was by far the best, although I think there are many other actors that would've been even better.

I'm pretty sure Reynolds has already signed for Deadpool (rather than being merely attached) and this will definitely raise his profile, so I don't see why Fox or Marvel would really be upset.

Of the three rumored, I thought Bradley Cooper would have been better. I thought Reynolds was attached to a Deadpool spinoff... but I guess Marvel is flexible. That, or they are getting ready to raise hell.

And I completely agree with the Nathan Fillion comments. He would have been perfect... That guy is one of the most underrated actors of our time.

What's with all the metrosexuals taking over Hollywood? We got Gaymbit as John Carter and RR going from Deadpool to GL. Thank God rugged Hugh Jackman is Wolverine and not some pretty boy wuss.

OK the casting is fine, I guess. But why do the casting announcements on this blog need to be shirtless?
e.g.: June 12, John Carter. Some kind of rule I guess.

Because Honor is a fag.

Whoa there, I wasn't implying anything, just a jokey observation. Do your parents know you're up this late?

I'm sorry when I saw this I nearly died from being subjected to intense stupidity. Haven't you heard of Gene Kelly, Rhett Butler, or Rock Hudson?

As for Hugh Jackman, sorry to tell you but he moonlights as a musical threatre star. Hugh Jackman best known role was Peter Allen in The Boy From Oz.

Lol
Marvel might not be that annoyed by this.

Afterall the Avengers movies are priority for Marvel, not X-Men or Spiderman.

X-Men don't tie into the universe that they are making, and are licensed out to Fox so it's not like it has a direct impact on them. If it was RDjr etc. then maybe they have right to be upset.

Fox might be pissed.

Out of the three I prefered Bradley Cooper; though I wonder what happen to the studio looking at Chris Pine & Sam Worthington for the role. Personaly, I wanted Pine to play Jordan; but hopefully Reynolds will be good.

Yeah, Ryan Golsing and Chris Pine would have been my top two choices. I heard they were considering Worthington but he opted for the Clash of the Titans remake instead.
